About

Maui Trip, 2008 December

I’m a teacher and am somewhat of a tech geek. My early days of “tinkering” involved programming basic and machine code from magazines on a Commodore VIC-20 with my Dad and high school (actually, grade school) buddy Earl.

I’ve been following the computer/tech world since the late 70′s and early 80′s. The days of the TRS-80 in high school are over. Now, it’s a more complex world with the evolution of the internet (among other things).

Don’t you just love progress?

While growing up, my Dad was, and continues to be, an influence in my interests in technology. He’s a Ham radio operator, computer/tech geek as well. I remember the days helping out with repairing his repeater, tinkering with various electronics and just exploring. Those were nice bonding days for sure.

Many say that I’m a chip-off-the-old-block when it comes to our interests and I have to say I agree. He seeded the tech trait early on for sure.

Thanks Dad.
